Rossana Weitekamp has over 20 years of experience in strategic PR counsel, with a concentration in the corporate/financial,consumer, non-profit and travel industries.
As an independent consultant, Ms. Weitekamp has provided PR counsel, press kit development and media outreach in both national and local markets for such clients as GE Capital, The Ad Council, Computer Sciences Corporation, Ernst & Young, and The Kauffman Foundation, among many others.
Prior to starting her consulting business, she served for five years as vice president to Edelman Public Relations Worldwide’s Business-to-Business Division, where she created and implemented programs for a broad range of consulting, Internet and financial services clients. These included AT&T, Ernst & Young LLP, Time Warner, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Phoenix Home Life Mutual Insurance Company, Multex.com and Juno Online Services. Among her areas of PR expertise include message development, creation and implementation of industry conferences, roundtables and speaking opportunities, media training, press kit writing and media outreach.
Prior to Edelman, Ms. Weitekamp’s background as a PR generalist was defined by her work in the food (Nabisco, Planters), hotel (Embassy Suites), consumer product (Gillette, Hasbro) and retail (Wolverine Worldwide, Melvin Simon & Associates) industries. Her career developed in New York’s finest public relations agencies, including Shandwick (Dorf & Stanton) and NW Ayer.
Ms. Weitekamp is a recipient of Melvin Simon & Associates’ Award of Excellence for her involvement in the opening of the A&S Plaza (now Manhattan Mall) in New York and the Newport Centre Mall in Jersey City, NJ. A graduate of New York University with a B.A. in Journalism, Ms. Weitekamp is also an Adjunct Instructor of Public Relations at Hofstra University's College for Continuing Education.
She resides in Long Island, and is director of the Malverne Tennis program and sits on the Board of Directors for the Malverne Volunteer Ambulance Corps. She is married and has two children.
